  David ROPER md. Delilah UNKNOWN LASTNAME about 1820 in NC, poss. in Rowan Co. David is said to be a son of Meredith ROPER, b 1730. It is possible that this David is a son of David, the son of Meredith, in other words, he may actually be the grandson of this early Meredith.
  
  David and Delilah had the following known children:
  James, b. 1822, Burke Co., md. Lucinda Mitchell
  Sarah Frances, b. 1826, NC, md. John Thomas PORTER
  George Washington, b. 1831, NC, md. Mary UNK
  David, b. 1829, NC
  
  Most of this family migrated to Pickens Co., SC. The son James appears to have stayed in NC.
