The father's name of the said Charles W. Spaulding is James E Spaulding and the maiden name of his mother is Margaret E. O'Bryand and the father's name of the said Ida J. Lane is John M. Lane and the maiden name of her mother is Emma J. Hathern.
The said Charles W. Spaulding resides in the County of Saline and the State of Nebraska is aged 27 years, was born in Ohio and is a white person. The said Ida J Lane resides in the County of Pawnee and the State of Nebraska is aged 34 years was born Missouri and is also a white person.
And these presents shall be your good and sufficient warrant, and you are required to return this license to me within three months from the celebration of such Marriage, with a certificate of the same appended thereto, signed by you, under the penalty of five hundred dollars.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal of the County Court of Pawnee, this 25th day of September A.D. 1901.

The next account was the birth of their first son (Christopher) in 1833, and then their second son Peter V in 1836.She died in 1893 in Golden City, Missouri, Barton County. We don't have her place of burial, or of her last husband, Christopher. One of their places of residence was in Chillisquaque.

their last name was Near and changed to Neer in the 1860
Illinois census. The last name has been spelled Neer ever
since.
William and Dorcas had 6 children: James Randolph, Ann
Catherine, John William, George, Mary and Barton Bartholomew

William was born in Virginia about 1810 or 1811 and Dorcas
was born in 1809 and died in Illinois. The last census record I have on them is the 1880 Illinois census in Lee County.

Charles was born 1/21/1861, the son of Martha (Barton/Arnold) and David C. Davis who died in the Civil War and is buried in Hurricane Cemetery, Charleston, Coles Co., Illinois. Widowed Martha married John Weaver in Illinois in 1865 and they moved to Iowa by 1870. Charles had one sister, Jennie, who was born in Illinois on Feb.7, 1865.

Charles' wife, Susan (also a Davis) was born in Lackawanna Co., Ohio on March 15, 1861. I believe her parents were Edward and Catherine Davis who were both born in Wales.
