I can't say what paper printed the article because it was cut and hand dated in pencil Married Feb. 14, 1953 Mis Marie Ernetine Day, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George William Day, Ypsilanti, spoke her vows Saturday to David Lynn Laskey, Milan, son of Mrs. H. O. Faidherbe, Ypsilanti, and Lynn Laskey, Milan, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Whittaker, at 12:30 o'clock, with Rev. Father Albert J. Folta officiating. For the ceremony the lovely bride chose a ballerina length gown of imported Chantilly Rose Pointe lace over satin fanshioned with a cameo neckline and fitted sleeves. Her mantilla styled veil was of imported French lace and she wore a single strand of pearls, a gift of the groom. Her colonial bouquet was of pink orchids. Miss Helena Barbara Day, sister of the bride, was gowned in a ballerina length dress of pink bengaline fashioned with a boat neckline and wore a pink net half veil headdress. She carried a heart shaped colonial bouquet of pink carnations and iris. The bridesmaids, Misses June and Rose Day, sisters of the bride, wre dressed in gowns identical to that of the maid of honor. Robert Brown, Ypsilanti, attended the groom and ushers were Paul McKercher, Milan, and William Stenning, Ypsilanti. Following the ceremony a creception was held at the home of the bride, 8581 Willis Rd., with Miss Maryan Dibbie, Ypsilanti, in charge of the guest book; Miss Veronica Yelinek, Dearborn and Mrs. Willilam Harcus, pouring. Also assisting were Mrs. Rudolph Kalusha, Mrs. Ralph Winkler and Mrs. Charles Bevier, all of Ypsilanti, and Mrs. Norman Younglove, Monroe, aunt of the bride. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Day wore a navy crepe dress with many accessories and the groom's mother wore navy with white accessories. Bother mother had corsages of white roses. For traveling to Canada the new Mrs. Laskey wore a navy blue shantung bolero dress with navy accessories and a grey poodle cloth coat. The bride is a graduate of Lincoln School and is presently employed as a laboratory technician at the King Seeley Scio plant and the groom, a graduate of Milan High School, is attending Cleary College. He was recently returned from servicer with the American Forces in Korea. Bridal showers were given previous to the wedding by Miss Dibble, Miss Yelinek, Mrs. Harcus and Mrs. Winkler.
