John Ruppert b: Abt. 08 August 1795 in Bavaria Germany.

I am not sure when he immigrated to the US but I believe it to be around 1834.  He married Margaret ?? who was born about 26 March 1795 in Germany.  I believe that they were married about 1837 as their first child was born in 1838.  They lived in Fryburg Ohio (Pusheta Township) Allen/Auglaize County according to the 1840, 1850, and 1870 census.

I was hoping you could help me with the maiden name of Margaret and with the marriage date and place if possible.

Carl Meyer/Meier, Elisabeth Wille, 9/28/1872
Cook County, Illinois
USA
[email protected]
Johan Heinrich Christian "Carl" Meyer and Marie Charlotte Wilhelmina "Elisabeth" Wille were married at the First Zion Lutheran Church in downtown Chicago on September 28, 1872 by Anton Wagner, Pastor. Carl went by Charles on the marriage license and a few census. Carl and Elisabeth went to Clayton County, Iowa and purchased land in 1874. They attended the Zion Lutheran Church in Clayton Center, Read Township, Clayton County, IA. They had 8 children - Minna, Bertha, Charley, John, Fritz, Bertha Louise, Lena, Anna. In 1892 they sold the land in Clayton County and moved to Postville, Allamakee Co., IA where William and Elsa (Elsie) were born. In 1905 they are found living on a farm across the county border from Postville in Bloomfield Twp., Winneshiek County. In 1908 they are found living on a farm in Willow Lake Twp, Brule County, South Dakota which is 6-1/2 miles N from Kimball, SD.
Carl died in 1912 and Elisabeth died in 1925. They are buried at the cemetery in Clayton Center, IA. Carl Meyer was born on December 31, 1835 in Eldena, Mecklenburg, Germany. Elisabeth Wille was born on April 13, 1853 in Gross Wanzer, Altmark, Stendal, Sachsen-Anhalt, Germany. These towns are only 37-1/2 miles apart so we do not know if they knew each other before they got on the same ship, the Vandalia in Hamburg on May 4, 1872. Most of their decendents live in Iowa,Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, South Dakota and California. Some of the surnames the decendents married were Ihde, Hansen, Plos, Mauer, Ihlenfelt, Hansen, Sandberg, Parmley, Schuett, Olsboe, Mecklenburg, Cook(e),Schlie, Vosgerau, Boehmer and Biehl. Please contact me if you have any connection to this family. We would love to meet you.
